In Social Media, the best stories don’t always make it to the popular section. Every day dozens of great articles, pictures, and videos are passed up while media of questionable quality and intentions reach the coveted front page.

popFAIL is a repository of submissions that should have become popular but failed for one reason or another. It may have been submitted by someone who has never hit the front page before and who doesn’t “play the game” right. Some were submitted by people who do hit the front page often — maybe too often — and the stories get pushed off into that post 24 or 48 abyss of failure.

This blog will try to catch the best of the best. We will highlight the stories that could have been, the pictures that should have been, and the videos that, for whatever reason, just weren’t. If content is king, then this is the palace of regret. Stories that make it here wear their crown upon a jaded brow.
