We’re really glad you’re thinking about contributing to popFAIL, but we have to let you know, we have a couple of guidelines to posting.

We’re pretty laidback here, so our guidelines are more or less for quality assurance purposes, we just want a quality blog, for quality submissions.

So here are our guidelines, feel free to use the contact link to the right if you have any questions.

1) Posts cant be posted before their 24 hour limit unless it’s very very very obvious that the post wont make front page, eg 2 diggs in 20 hours.

2) No self promoting - as much as we would love to promote our own stories ourselves, this really would drop the overall quality of the blog. This is really our only “hard guideline” and one we ensure we adhere too.

3) GREAT content only - again, this is really just to ensure that the blog becomes sort of a “second front page” for social media sites.

4) We have a probationary period for new contributors, its no big deal really, we just want to review submissions from new people before they go live. Once we feel that they’re generally good enough, we’ll remove this restriction and let you do what you feel like. Again, its really just a quality control measure.

5) Lastly, we have a fairly simple structure for most posts. This is just to ensure that we have some sort of congruency between the posts.

You will see the format for out posts looks like this.

1) Submitted by <name> on <date>

2) little bit of commentary about the submission

3) Original description of the submission

4) read more | digg story - these are just links back to the original material, and the appropriate article on Digg. Please include them.

We prefer that you insert any associated media in the submissions, but this isn’t critical. We feel that a post looks better with them.
