Lighthouse SkyscraperThis, the third in a month recommended from WebUrbanist, may make popFAIL seem like a fanboy for the innovative website. In many ways we are, and for good reason. Instead of chasing the news, they compile it, innovate it, then present it in ways that are astounding.

The visual aspects of this article alone are enough to make it front-page worthy. Once you start to read about these new technologies and spins on old technologies, it makes you realize that maybe, just maybe, there is hope afterall. They might not be the most widespread, all-encompassing displays of eco-friendly technology, but the cool factor makes it a more interesting read than most.

Lilypad ProjectHere, you see a visualization of the Lilypad Project.  “The idea is to create a series of floating self-sufficient ocean-going eco-city islands. Each one would be able to house 50,000 residents and would support a great deal of biodiversity.”

Green architecture comes in many forms though lately it seems like these forms are stranger than ever. Urban skyscraper farms? Floating eco-cities? Glowing solar towers? Turbine-driven skyscrapers? Magnetically levitated wind collectors? Where does it end?!
