While the subject matter is pretty interesting as a quick peek at something extraordinary in the tech industry, what really makes this particular Digg submission so interesting is the circumstances around it.

It was submitted and started receiving a lot of Diggs. It was recommended as part of the new Recommendation Engine heavily and stayed in upcoming beyond the 24 hour mark. The digging continued. The recommendations continued. As of now, it has 762 Diggs, 99 comments, and still hasn’t hit the front page.

I guess the threshold is high for some stories.
